Decoding cancer
Cancer cells don’t listen to the environment when they choose to divide. We thought, until very recently, of cancer as sort of a monolithic object, where the cells of the cancer cell are all doing the same thing. What happens with cancer is that the cell’s code is corrupted. Cancer researchers try to understand how that code is corrupted in each patient and discover new treatments involving cells or other types of immune system regulation.
