Associate Professor in Global Health, King’s College London
I am an associate professor in global health and philosophy at King’s College London’s Global Health Institute. My passion is the concept of health justice, and I’m an interdiscipline-trained philosopher who thinks about and argues for how we can better address health inequalities within and across countries. I work on a theory of social justice called the capabilities approach and have written a book called Health Justice.
When we think about health and healthcare policy, we imagine that it happens at the national or domestic level. Due to increased globalisation, we’ve come to realise that people’s health outcomes are affected by different things happening around the world.
