Van Gosse

Professor of History, Franklin & Marshall College
I'm a professor of history at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. My original scholarship focused on the US New Left after 1945. After publishing various books and articles, I turned my attention to the question of black citizenship as a central issue in American history. My latest book is The First Reconstruction: Black Politics in America From the Revolution to the Civil War.
